hello everybody I have a question about jour audio interface and latency.. I wa user tout work Wirth a mix ing table, and i always monitored what i record With headphones plugged in it..

Now this mixing table is out of order, and I can,t believe it but with my mbox mini and sonar or protools I have too much latency !! It’s really annoying to record like that, I thought this was an old problem.. I tried some configuration but still the latency makes the monitoring unusable…

So here is my question, is this something normal ? Should I change mk y hardware ?

Any hints appreciated !! Thanks…

Can’t comment on Pro Tools, but with SONAR are you sure you are using the ASIO driver?

SONAR does not default to the ASIO driver (usually WDM or MME) so you need to check that. This is usually – but not always – a prime reason for latency problems. So check that first.

Hi Daniel Not sure what protools version you are using with the mbox. But there are a few ways of solving this problem.Older versions of protools before 7.le have a ‘low latency input’ feature you can use with the mbox. But if it is a newer version you can select from the track menu “input only monitoring” which will get rid of the latency..you might have to mute the record channel also but you will still be hearing the input with out any latency. Good luck

The issue can be anything from compatibly issues, usb, not enough cpu speed or memory to hdd or the software itself.

It was a driver issue.. You couldn’t start the parameters software of the mbox.. As I saw here it was both on Mac and PC !http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/download/en375651?popup=true

Have fun..
