I currently have a search box on the right side of my two column setup. If I put something in the search field I get results and the same right side navigation is there with my search box. But if I click on one of the results which takes me to the post page I lose that right hand column. Is there a setting I can use to keep the right side column in place no matter what page or post I am viewing?

Doesn’t the deadline theme have two sidebars, one for pages and one for posts?

If so you would need to place your search bar in the same place in both sidebars.

Unless I’m mistaking your question with something else.

Sounds like you mean posts use a different template than search etc – you cannot chose the post page template – that’s a hard coded thing – you can change things if you know PHP though.
