Hello Guys,

Recently, i have been seen lot’s of flat design & some creative works…but i wonder, is there’s still place for classic layout in this marketplace ? Any suggestion & comments would be appreciated..

PS : Reviewer comments and thought would be much more appreciated..

Thanks

I imagine it depends what you mean by “classic layout”. I think if you produce a functional and well coded design which meets all the requirements then you will be fine. The “unique” features etc is important but i think that is more again not about layout but just assurance it is Functional enough to b classed as “premium” without looking like a replica of one that is already for sale here. It is rarely “layout” which is an issue for reviewers BUT of course classic “design” which looks outdated is a different concept.

Talking about trends, WTF is happening lately with those long flat shadows?

I must be a horrible designer, cos i can’t change my style each year which each new trend that comes up. And i’m not being false modest.

Instead of following the latest trend, create designs that will stand the test of time.

+1 Trends come and go, indeed. Over the years, only a small part of a trend, like the best feature it had will remains and continues to be incorporated in design. Like a while back when minimalism was a force, we all learned how to respect and make better use of white space.

Nowadays minimal designs aren’t that common or requested anymore and not everyone pulls it off, but the principles at the trend’s core are still implemented in each new (well-done) design.

Flat “style” is just a trend, it’ll go away as fast as it become popular :)

Spot on. Time to pay the piper! :))

Jokes aside, we’re discussing flat design, which incorporates more concepts than a long shadow, which is nothing more than a gimmick in the end.

Truth is, from my point of view, this whole flat-style is nothing more than a googlification of the web, considering the heavy usage of the Google-commissioned font too: Open Sans.

Must be a real joy for the guys at Google to see the web sphere turning flat. We need another Pythagoras or Columbus to respherify it. :)
