pezflash saidYeah, but I don’t think it’s used anywhere in the FLA .
I guess there is not other solution, but what i’ve done several times is just change it in the alert message while opening for a really weird one (like icons fonts or any other easy to see) and export the swf. I know is a bit stupid trick, but it has saved me some precious time.
Then don’t worry about it. Replace it with Arial.
(bit spanish mentality about big problems, you should know…)

When I am sure that the missing font is not being used in the output .swf file then I use the “Select Unused Items” and remove unused items in order to find out the culprit (make sure you make a backup copy of the .fla file before doing this practice because if you delete large number of assets then you will not be able to undo).

VF saidYes, but how would that help?
Did you tried the movie explorer panel?
If you know the missing font name (note them from the alert while opening the file), then you can sort the movie explorer search result using that font name. Atleast this will show the list of all the symbols that contains this font / text fields. This way you can navigate the parent movieclips in single click.

In Movie Explorer settings (last icon) uncheck everything except “Text” and make sure the context is “Movie Elements” (not “Symbol Definitions”) Then the only items that will appear in the panel will be ones with text defined on them, and if you expend them you will see the font names. (If you use the “Symbol Definitions” context it will not show text directly on the stage)

Done that, I guess it is on the stage somewhere. Too bad there’s no easy way to find this.

Will try Movie Explorer.
Try google search “flash missing font warning”, lots of people before you asked. Specifically check google links to actionscript org and kirupa forums
