WPEngine!
Actually it’s 99$ and believe me I’m not someone who likes to throw away money
I did my research and it’s worth it (for me at least)
Anyone tried Amazon Cloudfront? I’ve noticed that a lot of demos can be slow to load, which (almost) always means I click the back button – especially when I’m searching through a list of potential themes.
It’s pretty easy to set up – Just sign up + point at your website, change the DNS (and possibly install a WP Page caching plugin).
I managed to drop my page loading times from 9 seconds to less than 2.

Yeah, $99, you’re right .. I think i’ll give it a trial run and see how it works, compare it to a VPS, then choose

For digital ocean as example how about the transfer limit? This is the only thing I may be curious about. Does it allow me to run a support forum and portfolio website smoothly without “reaching-the-limit” problem? I don’t have a lot of experience about this, so it will be great to share your experience about this point. The $5/mo VPS comes with 1TB monthly bandwidth, which I think is more than enough for most authors here.
I didn’t have experience with unmanaged VPS either but as I previously said, it’s pretty easy to get one up and running. Both DO and Linode have very good tutorials, I’ve used them both when setting up my server. Email server setup is a pain, it would be better if you had a Google Apps account.
Thanks! The email is not a problem, actually I’m using a normal free Gmail account, don’t care about a professional email address, just something get the work done and is more than enough for me. Anyway don’t use email a lot at work and not for support purposes.
Will do some research about that before trying to switch. Thanks so much

I’m getting a bit sick to pay $20/month to MT and not have such a good speed at all..
Sorry RubenBristian, do you pay only 20$/mo. with Media Temple? $20 to host all your themes? Your themes don’t seem so slow. I pay $99/mo. with JaguarPC and I need to contact them once a week because the server go down. I’ll definitely pass to Media Temple.
I’ve been using Dreamhost for the last 10+ years. Once every great while, they will have some downtown, but for the most party, it’s very cheap, reliable, and their support is outstanding!
SeanBurdick saidHeard lot of things about Dreamhost, some is good, some is bad! However it looks popular … http://lifehacker.com/5911651/five-best-web-hosting-companies But read the comments to find some complaints.

It will be great if anybody else can share his/her experience with Dreamhost to get better idea about it.
I use dedicated server from OVH. It costs me €59.79 for a server with 16GB ram, 4TB hdd and unmetered bandwidth. I manage server on my own but if you aren’t good at it they do provide servers with pre-installed WHM/cPanel for €24.99/month extra(which I assume is the most easiest panel that exist).

Since i participated in this thread and tested some of the suggestions here and since i’ve already posted the following message in another thread, i’ll take this chance to post a little bit of spam
and shortly review my experience with some of the suggestions here:
I was on a (mt) (gs) for two years now, then i felt the need to change, because the site’s were not loading fast enough. I mean, they were fast, but not fast enough. I’ve tried their (dv) service, but that wasn’t fast either, and it was a bit hard to configure for a noob like me.
Then i’ve tried digitalocean.com which is a fast unmanaged SSD VPS, but when i saw myself(the noob) with nothing i concluded that it was too hard for me to learn how to setup my own server.
Then i’ve tried wpengine.com, which had the best speed from what i’ve ever seen(for wp sites). But the price was high and there are a lot of things that i do not like about it(it is mainly for wp and it has a lot of limitations about which i don’t want to talk here, and it’s also a bit hard to setup at first)..
So at the end, after searching a while on Google, i found asmallorange.com, which has a managed SSD VPS starting at only $30! When i’ve tested their speed, it was better than wpengine without any wp caching(which wpengine uses heavily for speed optimizations). And above all, it has cPanel, which for me(the noob) it has the essential!
So at incredible speed + cPanel + low price($30-50 / month depending on your needs), i say that “A Small Orange” is a gem..
Hi Ruben, Thanks for writing your review. I have heard good stuff about ASmallOrange and I was interested to get hosting from them, but I noticed there were several notifications in their community forums that their servers will be down for maintenance, also I saw some threads people asking why their site is down, so i was not sure about that. Did you face any downtime? Do you monitor your site up time, if yes how?
