I’m talking about paid advertising, not the usual spam and run :D
Anyways, i would like to know how successful it was for you to get people on your page/portfolio after giving ads :)
and if your visits actually increased/ and you got many refs :D
Did you start off with a low budget?
Do you think your ad campaign was good enough? :)

I’m intrigued by this too. I have seen a few themes using advertising before on google adwords. I also have seen ads for flyer templates on deviantart. Hopefully those authors will chime in :)

We have tried Google Adwords a number of times but the results were very disappointing. Not doing it again. ThemeForest drives plenty of traffic. Best to concentrate on investing in themes and support.

It may work but is risky and you can spend the hard earned money for nothing. It’s like a lotery.

Isn’t this what you’ve seen? http://codecanyon.net/forums/thread/promoting-codecanyon-items-with-banner-ads/98574#806444

no not talking about this… This is just a feature type thing where envato will give banners in their sites weekly about authors…

I saw a codecanyon item ad here:

and at the bottom found flyer ad here at official PSDs

Well i was thinking about if i could drive people out to my Facebook Page, it would be more useful because they can get updated about my new items and such :)
