My first business cards on Graphicriver have had three sales (at last :P) however in July my earnings were $4.00 per sale and today I just got a sale which was $3, how does that work? Or am I missing something here

That means the buyer is using paypal to make the payment, there is a $2 surcharge for PayPal transactions. So you get to keep $1 while envato keeps $1
$3 would mean that the buyer used his deposited earnings to buy the item
