Disapointed in finding a web designer/coder

I have been asked to review resumes for another web guy to add to our creative team at the company I work. Yet Every resume I have reviewed so far is absolutely horrific. And, surprisingly, not too many include portfolio links. Ugh!

What is the deal? There seems to be a good community of designers out there yet I have not seen 1 out of 100’s worth a look.

Established US company in FL, pays well, full benefits, great equipment to work on etc… Yet no quality applicants.

How about some suggestions for design based job boards.

The list I have include Authentic Jobs, WebdesignerWall and I also have Krop.com Anybody ever used these to success?

Programmermeetdesigner.com may yield some results, however a lot of the people who apply for jobs are from outside the US, it may be tough to find a good local one.

How about oDesk or Elance, etc?

I assume you are looking for a on-site worker.

Maybe if you look for a remote one you will find better applicants.

Yes… on site. We have remote employees already so we need someone in-house to handle day-to-day
