I get an e-mail directly from another e-mail, not through ThemeForest saying:
Hi, I purchase this wordpress theme , but I lost the footer.php, can you send to me only footer.php. Please help.
I then get a comment on my theme’s item page asking the same thing, and what do you know, the user doesn’t even have a buyer’s badge.
Do these people take us for idiots? Do they have no shame asking for, what is essentially, my property for free?

+ he could have re-download the file and get the footer.php if he had really bought it
It’s like if I would download an illegal copy of a CD and find out there’s 1 song missing and email the artist saying : Hey dude, there’s 1 track missing on your CD, can you send it to me? please?

Nice new avatar BTW

You mean you’ve never done that?

“Shit man, the album I downloaded illegally off some site was missing a couple songs, can you give me them please?”
I just don’t understand some people.
Oh well.
Edit: Thank you.

Never done what? Download illegal tunes? Or asking the artist directly to help me with it?
Lol, funny thread… on a side note you may want to have a quick browse on the ol’ interwebs to see where he might have got the rest of your theme from, so you can try and limit illegal downloads.

I do that weekly and I don’t really find much.

Well I certainly hope nobody on here has illegally downloaded music after all the talk I see about theft and getting credit for work.

+1 for the title of this thread – so hard to resist clicking on it
There really should be a manual for buyers that goes beyond the legal speak – I agree that while support is pretty common place in our industry (as it should be in lots of cases), the notion of entitlement can get out of hand when people don’t understand what they are actually buying.
lol great thread.
I had this too, someone e-mailed me directly asking me if they could “read the help file because i want to know what its like before buying”. Clearly this is the one thing they couldnt get at with teh download. Classic.
