I’m thinking about buying a 27” monitor tomorrow, but I’m slightly concerned because the resolution is only 1920×1080 (or 1920×1200).
I’ve read several articles saying the resolution isn’t an issue if you aren’t sitting too close to the monitor…and I’ve read others that say the exact opposite.
Anyone have a monitor of this size with a similar resolution? Any thoughts on whether its suitable for web design?
I have a 24” with 1920 by 1200px resolution. If I were getting a 27”, I’d try to get a higher resolution. Otherwise, go with a 24”.

I have a 4 year old 17 inch laptop with 1920×1200 res. I could never work with a smaller resolution. 27 inch and the same resolution seems small. Low pixel density., But at least you wont have to zoom in when doing pixel graphics ho ho.
Over here with an iMac 27” Monitor and 2560×1440pix of resolution… I just love this display…

Wow. I wish I could afford one of those. Sounds awesome.
I think I’m just going to go to a store and try to look at one in person before ordering online.
@MarkDijkstra – I do too. Thats pretty encouraging.
I’ve got a 15” laptop with 1920 *1080
Sometimes a killer for your eyes when I’m working too long, but I’ve got another monitor connected.
On topic: I think i wouldn’t be a problem a 27” inch with that resolution.
