Yep – kinda ironic that there’s a piece of software for Mac’s that specifically saves your butt when it crashes… I’m gonna guess Apple won’t be advertising this one anytime soon. ;)

Haven’t had my PC crash in ages (seriously, the last time it crashed was a power surge during a lightning storm over a year ago). Sure, I built the rig myself and maintain it properly, but I thought PC’s were supposed to crash all the time. Proof that Apple’s campaign against PC’s is fueled more by dumb PC operators who are willing to click any link/email/virus thrown their way than by unstable operating systems. I love Mac’s too, don’t get me wrong – but playing PC’s out as unstable is just silly when Mac’s seem to freeze up more often.

Brandon don’t get me wrong man, really, but this is the funniest thing I’ve ever read dude, that’s not the problem, Microsoft Word have auto-save, Corel have auto-save, all those great apps have it, this is a cool feature because it save us whatever the situation.

PC’s crash all the time and you know that, I’ve been a windows user for ages (from W3.1 to W7). This is just a matter of prevention.

I’m sticking my fingers in my ears and singing “la la la la la la”... :P

I really haven’t had any problems, but I totally recognize that Windows have been shite for a lot of people. I really just shouldn’t throw in opinion on the Mac vs. PC war… always a bad idea, haha. :)

Hey Brandon,

You’ve got to admit that not everybody has a custom build PC and not everybody maintains it properly. So you’re situation is not normal for windows users :D.

I work for 3 years on a Mac and it has never let me down so i think it’s just a matter of how you maintain your gear.

OS X is rock solid for me. It’s just those poorly done apps like flash, PS, DW, etc. and considering how often they crash, it’s great that it doesn’t phase OS X . I mean, when I was on Windows I had a couple apps crash fairly often and there was more than once that it corrupted some file that caused way more problems with other stuff.

I don’t know if it’s like that any more on Windows since I’ve been on mac for the last few years and all I use is XP for browser testing.

To the OP, I think it’s kinda funny to have an app to save stuff for you but I guess it just depends on if you need it or not. I’m so used to saving my work so frequently that I do it and don’t even realize it, lol.

True. Ive never had any problems with my mac, except when I am using photoshop. Since everything else works just perfectly fine I tend to believe that the software is causing the problems here, and not the mac itself.

However, 4 years ago Ive worked on a PC and it worked well too. I am by no means a computer geek. I just purchased an out of the box system and was carefull which sites I visted and which software I installed.

My personal conclusion is that at least 80% of the problems people have is caused by lack of basic knowledge. and with basic I mean “dont download stuff from a site when even internet explorer has warned you that this is a phishing site” ;D
