Hi Fillerspace. Please don’t use self-promotion on the forums. Thanks!

I’ve been a member here for 4 years, I know the rules. I did not post a link to one of my items, I simply suggested a place where he could find a very specific solution to his question. There is nothing in the rules that prohibits that:

http://codecanyon.net/community/forum_rules
A Note on Self Promotion Because of the commercial nature of the Envato networks, authors are expected to understand and respect the fact that using the forum to post links to one’s own items, or to give away free files to the community, is not allowed. This practice effectively undercuts the hard work of all authors who wish to sell their items fairly, and as such it is not tolerated.

I can’t even see the post you’re both refering to…

Apparently it got flagged and removed already. But just to clarify, if someone asks “What XYZ do you guys use?”, is an author allowed to say “Check my portfolio for an XYZ alternative?” without posting a link?

Bootstrap is awesome. But I have been using it since a long time, and I think I am bored of it’s CSS. I am planning to make write custom CSS and use it with the JavaScript of BootStrap.

Best of both the worlds :D

as long as you’re not constantly saying check my portfolio for things then I think it should be ok… as you pointed out, you weren’t linking to your portfolio merely stating you had something of interest…

Foundation 4. If not most advanced out there (as the guys at Zurb.com claim), then at least goes on par with Bootstrap. Makes development much easier and fun. Drawbacks – Bunch of files included the end buyer might not use. Final statement – if you have the skills and time and performance is a priority, better go with custom coding from scratch. Otherwise – frameworks will make your life way much easier.
