Wanted to ask this question from the envato group after checking most recent items and seeing how most of them havent been sold not once. Does anyone else think their sales are lower for this month? Or is it just me….

I think a few people have already mentioned here they have noticed a drop in sales, A lot of high quality files have passed and have not had any sales which is a shame but i think we just have to expect that sometimes sales decrease, they do get back to normal after a while though and in the meantime just design more items to sell! :)

For me i only get small drops in sales now and then, each month my % of sales keeps beating the last month so as long as that keeps happening i’m happy! :P

Yea i noticed the fluctuation of sales monthly. But what might be the reason for that? Beginning of the year? People are away from the computer? dont want to spend money of graphics but wait till later part of the year?

It’s common across all the marketplaces to have a slight drop in sales during the holidays/new year, then things rise back to normal numbers. I wouldn’t worry too much. :)

I’d love for the marketplaces to share a 12 month trend in sales with the authors so we can see when the peaks are. Or even a trend on item types to help.

Hopefully it’s not due to the 6-7 bad/negative search keywords suggestions that are added after graphicriver when you type it into google etc. Sadly another possible reason sales are down if some people are just getting them in some zip posted online.

If anything, I’ve had an increase in sales this month! Last month I barely sold a thing but now I’m doing fine!

I have had a few more sales but not a lot, this time of year is slow though but i still think all that type of stuff going on these days will lower sales a lot though and search engines don’t help really when they place those types of listings/keywords so high.

Thankfully though there will always be honest people out there who will buy products and also want to support the creators.

Yea would be nice if they posted it for authors. Thanks everybody for their comments. It was a surprise for me, because my sales kept rising since august and now in january worse. If anything I would think people would buy more graphics to get a head start on their stuff for 2010.

But anyways, hopefully this wont be a trend for following months.

What I heard from another place I’m at is that the businesses/companies often spend a lot of their marketing budget in the run-up to Christmas. Which leaves less of a budget during January.
