Hi guys ,
Some time ago , I was asking myself if having a website with a lot of visit / days help to sell theme.
Is the same exact theme , release by someone with a good portfolio + a website that is popular will sell more than someone’s first theme with no website at all to promote it.
So I looked at the stats of 2 really good sellers here at TF , Kriesi and Epicera. Here’s the result :
Kriesi.at : 59 000 visitors / day (Wich is more than videohive.net
)
Makedesignnotwar : 8800 visitors / day

Congrats to you guys , maybe you can share your toughts about this and if you can give some tips about getting some traffic , that would be nice
Sorry for my english , i know it suck

That’s a good topic. I personally think it highly influences the amount of sales an author gets. Often when there’s a steady flow of traffic heading a personal designer’s website, it’s usually because they look for new content released from them, which ultimately redirects to ThemeForest and more sales.
Well personally I think it does help increase sales even if your website is not really that popular. It depends on how you market your items in your website. Beats not having a website at all. But at the end of the day, of course it all boils down to how useful your item is and of course the quality.

I think it can certainly play a big role – the more visitors you can drive to a product page (especially those already interested in your work), the more will ultimately convert to purchases.
However, I’d say the opposite is true as well: Having a popular product will help your website traffic. After having a few successful products on ThemeForest, my little blog’s traffic went up by some 2,000% – So I think the two can cross-pollinate each other.

It definitely does.
Marketing your products on your site attracts more people into your items in here.
According to my stats, my 2nd highest exit page is my themes page on my blog which leads 9000 hits/a month to my items in here.

9000 hits? Nice…... but how many hits turn into sales?

About %8-9 of them. I guess it could have resulted at least %40 if non-member visitors of TF could directly buy the item instead of depositing certain amounts of money =)
