I know that he needs us, and I’m super willing to share all my life with him (making food, going out, doing stuff, etc) – just not to share my 8-9 hours of sleep and 8 hours of work (not necessarily packed together, can be split but not too far apart) – otherwise he’ll be the star of the show.

Mate it’s a dog, not a human baby. It’s not like the puppy will cry for a feed every 2 hours, poop his pants 6 times a day, try put a fork in the plug or pull out fragile wine glasses every split second you take your eyes off it.

A puppy dog will just come to you all happy with a wiggly tale and take a pat on the head, then curl on the carpet and sleep next to you, happily (but quietly and respectfully) waiting for your next trip out together.

As long as you don’t badly neglect it (which you don’t sound like you would), your dog won’t mess with your work. Having a dog won’t change your work productivity. It won’t disrupt your sleep patterns. If anything, it will force you to get some fresh air every day and think of something else than work for a few minutes.

Now go get your chocolate lab Coda, and post a photo in this thread :-)

Hehe :)) now that’s some amazing pep talk right there. You should become a motivational speaker :)). It won’t come until August because we need to solve a few problems until July and then have an awesome summer holiday, but right after coming back we’ll take him and I promise to post some pics.

Having to go out daily will be a bliss, at the moment I have times when I feel guilty for going out instead of staying in a work a bit more on the next release :)). (Stupid – and the sad part is that I don’t think I’m the only one around here who does that :)) )

Made the same mistake few years ago. Don’t do it! Work is extremely important part of life, but it’s not the Life itself! There are more important things like health, family etc.

I am trying to balance, and lately the work NEVER comes first, but you can still find my themes in the “popular files of the week” list (for their respective category). ;)

A dog helps a lot in this.

@abhimanyusharma003 – it’s a Corgi. – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Welsh_Corgi

@Koev, yeah I know that it’s not good at all to think like that and shit yes, your themes are awesome. Becoming a bit of a workahoolic is extremely easy when freelancing and even easier when working for products for Themeforest. This is one of the important reasons why we want to take a dog because it’s gonna force us to live a better life.

@Koev,

Out of curiosity. When your girl is in super hyper mode and you’re indoors and can’t go out, how loud of a noise is she usually making? (things boinking on the ground, her head vs the wooden floors, things like that :)) )

Thanks a lot!
