What is the best way to go about handling drop-down menus for Wordpress menus? I have always manually just hard-coded them in. But I’m kind of at a stand still if I should use a plugin? If so which one?

Was wondering what some of the veterans do.

Hey, Not sure that super fish is really good choice. SF has some lacks that not appropriate for user friendly UI.

Hi, I’ve used superfish on a number of Wordpress themes before without issue. To activate the menu you need to register it first then call it in the header or whenever eg using < ?php wp_nav_menu( array( 'depth' => 2, 'sort_column' => 'menu_order', 'container' => 'ul', 'menu_class' => 'sf-menu menu', 'theme_location' => 'your-menu-here' ) ); ? >

This should generate the menu html which you can then style with css. You also need to include the superfish in the header and call it.

As dekciw mentioned, the codex should show you how the menu works.

Thanks for the reply Franklin. Definitely got me down the right track. I’m slightly confused on the “register it” part. Are you saying just make a call to the js file?

1.) Downloaded the plugin. 2.) Placed ”<?php wp_nav_menu( array( ‘depth’ => 2, ‘sort_column’ => ‘menu_order’, ‘container’ => ‘ul’, ‘menu_class’ => ‘sf-menu menu’, ‘theme_location’ => ‘primary’ ) ); ? > ” 3.) Not entirely sure about this last step ;(

Thanks again for the help. :)
