For a referral to work, you need to install the app on your machine. So unless you have one machine/referral, no.

And if there is more than one computer? And you can always install and uninstall, right?

Pretty sure they’d prevent this kind of malicious behaviour It wouldn’t be too difficult to save the unique MAC addresses of each device of installation. Plus, where’s the fun?

C’mon, the little tricks in your first post could be considered “malicious behaviour” too.

Guess you’re kinda right, thought we did do what they wanted; test the import feature in various conditions. Just saving them some bandwith by not uploading it all

It’s 5 GB just for installing the beta.

For example, by doing stuff mentioned here + 1 referral, I am now at 9.1 GB free Dropbox space

It all adds up – there’s extra space for various other things as well (like http://www.dropbox.com/gs or http://www.dropbox.com/free )

The party is slowly coming to an end ; the beta has been released as a release-channel update, and the bonus has been decreased to a cap of 3GB. Anyone who already earned 5GB gets to keep it, of course.
