Dunno what to do now...

Hi guys. I had a project called “Elegant Corporate Opener” ( videopreview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J35T5xXkUSo )

So this project got reviewed for first time and I get soft-rejected. Fixed the things and re-uploaded. And the second time I had soft-rejected because its still needed a little fixing. I did it. Then it got reviewed again BUT this time not the same person reviewed. And I got it hard rejected.

So what should i do now? I’m confused.

Try to add a little more life to it. You just have one animation which is repeating it’s self untill the end. Maybe add some different camera angles to it, like from left to right.

Maybe instead of just one color text you could add some color bars behind the text.

Don’t get me wrong the project it self is not bad, but it’s a bit simple comparing to other similar projects.

It is too simple, pre-made flare overlayed on the same repeated motion and text. There is hundreds of projects just like this already for sale on the hive and more get submitted everyday.

That’s why, I think.. Do something you have not seen before.

This might be a bit off topic, but really, please convert your downloaded MP3 audiojungle files to WAV or something else before you render the preview. I hear that glitch at the beginning in a lot of projects… I don’t know what causes that, but it doesn’t sound good for sure.

If that is the case, then the reviewer will have explained what to be fixed or altered, he has provided you 2 chances. I believe that the reviewer was not happy your modifications and decided to put an end to it.

If I were you, I would leave this(don’t delete) and start a new file. After a year or two, pls visit this file again. Answers might pop-up.

You know, a really good place to start is with style frames. Instead of launching directly in with After Effects, open up Photoshop and spend half a day designing the look of a new project. Create 5 or 10 graphical variations. In a long day, you can design three new projects… as stills. Find an appropriate piece of music for each project too (maybe even a selection of three possible tracks). Maybe write a script for what your text will say and search out some images too.

Then leave it for a week or two.

When you come back, you’ll see it with fresh eyes and you can decide which projects deserve pursuing, which ones need improvement etc. And you can set about adding the most awesome motion to your killer graphics.

btw. Hardly a commercial job happens that doesn’t start with some kind of style frames.
