Greetings fellow graphicers,

I’ve got a smart object containing text, and I want to copy it and put in some different text. But when you change the copy, the original changes too. Can you tell me how to avoid the original changing? My chosen weapon is Photoshop CS4 .

Cheers and many thanks!

Cool! I’ll try it as soon as I’ve munched some tortillas and watched the sunset….... Well just the first one actually, I live in Scotland and can’t see the sun.

hehe really!

anyway, kaixer shared the right way. once the smart object is ready just right click on it and choose “new smart object via copy”.

since the option itself creates a new layer you don’t need to create the duplicate (as i wrote in the previous message)

cheers!
