I just finished my review on comparing PayPal, MoneyBookers and Swift transfers to find out which is cheaper and when you should start using SWIFT transfers to save some money.

Hi. Thanks for this review. It’s quite interesting. I’ve read it all, but just guessing if Paypal-Bank conditions are different in Latvia than other countries, even inside Europe.
I’ve not withdrawals limits (you point 500$). And Paypal doesn’t charge anything for that (i mean, send the money to your local bank here in Spain). But yes, their currencies conversion rates are really low. But well, spanish banks doesn’t give a much better conditions (better, yes, but not so much). At least for me (didn’t try moneybookers, though) the best option is still Paypal. But i want to remark: it’s the best option, not a “good option”.
The biggest complaint on my side about Paypal is that even if you have a Dollar bank account, if that bank is located in Europe, they will convert dollars to euros before sending the money.
Thanks again for your article. Quite useful.

Thank you for this. I just have one question.
This is what i read in moneybookers faq:
We will process your withdrawal in EUR , USD or the official currency of the country where your bank is located. Information regarding the currency in which Moneybookers processes every particular withdrawal request is displayed in the final confirmation screen of your withdrawal.
And you said that they carry out withdrawals in EUROS only, so I am confused about that.

lol thank you so much, I’ve just checked and my last transfert (SWIFT from Envato) cost me about $60. I’ve checked my previous withdrawal with Moneybookers : I left them about $200
Until now, I never paid attention to that, so once again, thanks a lot !
Thank you for sharing, helpful info.

Best thing is to stick with SWIFT transfers for big money. This way you can spread the cost much better. I’d rather skip a month withdrawal than give money away.

It could be. Im just speeking from my experience there. However this might make you think and calculate and find your own best option.

I also just read that, however i checked my bank statement and it said EUR converted to Lats so they transfer money in euros and then in my bank they got exchanged to local currency. I also remember reading in withdrawal window that all transactions are carried out in Euros. Will check this at the beginning of next month when some money will come in my Moneybookers account.
