Thanks a mill SteelRose…!

Ok some very basic ones for ye that have been getting me confused…

On your site your parent page ‘Challenges’ cant be navigated to but obviously the children pages can. How do you do that…? On my page I dont want the parent pages to be navigable (Is that a word…?) just like yours…! Check them out here…. http://www.viewdrogheda.ie

On the front page of my site at the moment I just have a basic gallery setup. What I would like to have is a portfolio style page so that when you click an image it go’s to a page on the site instead of just to that image..! I cant seem to get the whole portfolio think to work at all…!

Ok and finally (for the moment)... To change the colours of various aspects of the site I assume its editing some css file that will do the job for me..? Same for text styles…???

Sorry again for hassling you. Really appreciate your help on this. Love your site by the way. Great name too… didnt know what to expect..! Haha. I’ve worked in an Architects office for years and have made some basic models with C4D . Your tutorials reminded me how much I like using that package but as of late its rarely used… :-(

Thanks again

Richie

We can answer those questions without needing the file. (although there may be easier ways if SteelRose has more insight)

The “challenges” parent page not being clickable – just create a custom menu item names whatever you are calling it and add it to the menu with no link attached to it.

The Gallery linking to pages – that should be really easy if you have set up the page as a portfolio (read the documentation) and it should go there automatically. It looks like you have assigned your home page to a gallery NOT a portfolio (again could be wrong and SteelRose may have a better idea).

Colours and text styles – you are right these will be changed using the CSS files (Style for most although there maybe custom CSS files for certain elements). Also in the admin panel of the theme there should be options to change certain fonts, sizes and colours there also.

Am sure SteelRose will answer your queries accurately but that should get you going for now. Good luck

Hey,

Cheers AjexFjord, pretty much spot on. Couple of little bits I can add that may be useful are…..

For the subs menu items, as AjexFjord said, just create a custom link in your menu, to have it link nowhere just put a # into the URL box. Then place the pages you want under it in the menu. To make any pages a sub page of that custom link, place them under it in the menu and you will see it move slightly to the right, that means it is a child of the above one.

With the openning page, Again Ajexford is spot on, create a page with the template style as portfolio. Then in settings > reading set your front page to the portfolio. When you add items to your porfolio you MUST add a featured images otherwise the item will not show up in it. Note. Portfolio pages can only be collections of images, a video or audio. But you can set text in the in the excerpt box.

For fonts and colours, there is nothing built into the theme itself for changing them so it would need to be CCS .

Hope this is useful, let me know if you have any more. :)

P.s. Thanks for the kind words regarding my site. :)

If you think that’s the case Jeff, can you please contact Support to let them know? Thanks!

I did, and so far no one has yet responded.

Just a FYI . You can also just add .sep{border:0 !important;} to your custom css under theme options.

I also purchased this and very unhappy not to have the support anymore. Having trouble with IE and the theme. Contacted author and have not had any luck. Anyone have a direct email for the author.

Many thanks for the detailed replies..! I’ve implemented some of what you described but haven’t had the time to do other bits so I might be back with more questions.

Thanks again and sorry for the late reply..!

[Theme name removed] It looks exactly like Elastico. I bought it and looked into it, and I’m getting a feeling that it was actually Elastico, modified, and re-uploaded by a different author. I’m not gonna say he stole it and it’s a rip off and making money off it. I found that it comes with lots of mistake that the “re-uploader” did not fix and leaving it a lot of mistakes throughout all the files. I’m not saying he stole it in any way, and you’re free to make your own judgement, for $40—which I think is really expensive for a theme has not even been fixed. But again, anyone can make mistakes.

Hi Jeff! i love elastico – and beause no longer available – it would be nice to get a hint how i can find the ‘new elastico’ kind regards Thomas

Whether or not Elastico was a rip-off is not my decision, but I really liked that theme. Unfortunately I was too late to purchase it before it was pulled off the market, and I have yet to see anything on the marketplace that resembled it (unless that one too was pulled). I would just like to purchase the legitimate theme if it’s still available. I just cannot bear to consider WowWay as an alike option. Does anyone have any information on the ‘legit’ elastico, or something mighty close to it?

There’s focus. http://themeforest.net/item/focus-minimal-wordpress-theme/3293567

up to you to judge, but this theme comes with an awful lot of issues, even after fixes, which might cause more headaches than anything else.
