i know you have chosen but to everyone else i recommend one.com you only have to play 90p a month and you get unlimited email accounts and a web interface EDIT : Also the first year is free!

The thing which convinced me was the Google Interface. It’s reliable and fast.

+1 Google Apps Standard Edition is not only Free, but awesome. Haven’t found anything easier, better or more reliable. Not to mention you have many other apps already integrated like calendar, docs, chat, sites, etc. Throw up some custom subdomains for each service (mail.mydomain.com, docs.mydomain.com, cal.mydomain.com) and you have a full suite of awesome.
I like Google Apps Standard Edition. So I would just buy the domain and NO hosting?

You can actually buy the domain while signing up for Google Apps, from Google. As far as I remember at least. I personally hate GoDaddy, even just for purchasing domains. You might check out Namecheap.com

It has the same prices, and like jremick, i hate godaddy too! One reason is, their control panel sucks (and its slow :O )

I use name.com :)

ok so I have a website that pushes around 3500GB of bandwidth/month. You are saying I could host my files there and you wouldn’t complain?

Technically, yes you can.. However, I can guarantee.. You’re site ain’t going to be very fast at all! What must you be pushing 3500GB of bandwidth/month anyways? You’d figure if you have that much bandwidth you MUST be making enough money to afford an dedicated server that’s mandatory to host if you want a quality viewed website, but yeah.. Majority don’t use Shared Hosting cause 3.5TB is too much to handle on such a small portioned shared account, if one did.. Quality would DEFINITELY not be as great, in fact very slow and these lines are coming from SoftLayers infrastructure!

However, yes you could still host with us. :)

I use to have a dedicated server with softlayer for about 3 years but now I colocate a couple of servers for exactly the reason that 2000GB/month wasnt enuf. Also its a very popular site and the oldest based on need for speed mainly to do with new car addons.

well, to give some advice to others:

if you know something about POP servers you can set up the free squirrelmail, which is a great e-mail, and you can use your own server.

Isn’t that a webmail client for servers?

could be, I must confess that I aint an e-mail guru, but I know someone who is, and he set up an account for me, and it works really well, but could be that it’s something different, in that case, I apologize.
