Personally I think they are good. People are very happy to buy a great email template or website template for 10$, 12$, 15$ or 35$, it’s a real joke for them. They have a up and running website or email campaign in few hours!!!! Come on….. You also hold his hand like a child at this price!

I didnt say they are priced high by their own.
There are unfairly priced vs site templates.
Email templates hardly have any documentation, psd files, multiple pages, js enhancements.
THEN RAISE THE PRICE OF THE SITE TEMPLATES …
Interresting…
Email templating is a wound for developers. I have made some templates for a big company (very big) and my work was to make HTML from PSD /AI. The most hard to do was to make PERFECT copies for all webmails and softwares. There is a lot of rules to make it works…. Theres is also a lot of work when you are testing an email in all cases possible. (thats why I have made YrMail :P)
Email templating is definitly harder to develop rather than wordpress themes… Because HTML interpreter in hotmail, for example, is worst than IE6 ! Yes, it’s possible!!

+1 considering the meticulous process of the coding part.

That , my friend, is a crazy thing to suggest.
I have also developed many email templates for large companies and Yes you are correct… it does take a lot of testing in many different clients and versions. It is frustrating, but come on now… where talking old school table based design not php, jquery, multiple paged full sites with options pages etc…

I agree with mlando – I develop both – Wordpress is 10x as difficult for most middle-of-the-road themes
Email templates take a bit of time to get your head around, but after that it’s cake.
That said, I think the prices are fair – As has been stated before – lots of these templates come with a variety of styles and layout options. That, combined with the extra high level of testing required definitely makes them worth the price.
