I could recommend a very good movie: The Departed. Have you watched it?

I have, and loved it! I actually just watched the first episode from that new Vice TV show on HBO. Pretty good watch, looking forward to more of it. Although I don’t have HBO and was lucky enough that they posted the first episode for free online. A new one airs tonight, so I’m gonna have a friend DVR it for me.

Look at this rain from the bright side: Better now when you’re working at home, than when you decide to go out with friends to make barbecue grilling and drink beer when the weather is perfect. :)

That does actually help me! I recently purchased the new SimCity and immediately realized how outdated my computer was. I’ve been considering starting up a fresh new build, but spanning it over the course of 2 – 3 months and just ordering parts as I come across good deals.

Did you already order the monitors? If not, I’d caution against them. I know that most people enjoy them, but I picked one up when they first came out and it had something like 25 dead pixels. Sent it back and got another one, this one had 10 dead pixels and one of the LED backlights were broken. So I just went and got a refund. In the area that was working, I wasn’t really happy with the color and even very simple gradients that were extremely smooth seemed to have terrible banding when viewed with it.

Instead I went with this one: http://www.samsung.com/us/computer/monitors/LS27B970DS/ZA and have not had one regret yet, it’s got the best picture I’ve ever seen on a consumer monitor. The only drawback is that the plugs are in the base (to make the screen really slim) so if I wanted to mount the screen, I wouldn’t be able to. But other than that, I love my choice.

Also, I just read about this monitor from Monoprice, which is more of a budget, no-name brand screen. But apparently it uses a newer version of the LG panel that is found in the Apple Cinema Displays and people are saying the picture quality of it is stunning, and the price is so low I had to fight off the urge of picking it up just for the sake of it :). They also have another monitor one level up that has similar specs but a few more connection options (displayport, hdmi, etc). Where as the one I linked only has DL-DVI

I’ve also been considering an Nvidia Titan card in a Bit Phoenix Prodigy case..

@Mark – Yeah, I ordered them already. I read some reviews, and didn’t found that issues. It’s lame if they’re so bad :/ We’ll see, I hope for the best :)

@Mocarg – around $8500 (6400EUR)

p.s. This is branded DELL configuration. Dell Precision T7600
