Hey everyone!
Recently I’ve got email from Envato:

Hi Dream-Theme,

We have initiated a quality review check of your item, [theme name removed]. Unfortunately, we’ve had to soft disable the file. We’ve received some complaints and after an inspection we have found issues and/or bugs that need to be fixed:

The contact form is not working as expected. Please release a fix.

[...]

So theme is disabled because somebody thought that contact form is not working (without actually bothering to read that form sends messages to email that was set during WordPress installation).

Now question to Envato: don’t you guys think that this is not very adequate behavior? I understand when item is disabled when there’s a crucial issue. But disabling theme for a minor issue and without contacting author for comment?.. Guys I thought we must treat each other as a RELIABLE business partners but your attitude is kinda ignorant (sorry to say this).

To fellow authors: Please +1 this thread and “REQUEST STAFF REPLY”. IMO fact that items can disabled for minor issue (without actually checking it) is a serious threat for our businesses.

Yep, it happened to me in the past. Soft disabling without evening checking if the claim is true or not. When i kindly asked the reviewer to test the theme himself, it was reenabled no questions asked.

I had the same problem in the past, but the last week I received a notification that there is an issue with one of my themes and I must fix it within 48 hours otherwise the theme will be soft disabled. I was really satisfied with such attitude, thought that they changed the way of disabling the items without prior notification.

Yeah that’s a proper way to handle such things. It was not my case though.

Yes, as I’ve said it is the proper way to handle such things. 1 or 2 times I had similar notices and appreciate such attitude. But what I’m strongly against is disabling item without doing proper check.

BTW theme is already back (thanks to Envato for it). But we have an unpleasant precedent. Not the first time and not only me :(

Requested staff reply, happened a few times to us also. If they started with 48 hours practice like in mad_dog’s case then this is great news indeed :).
