(typo in title: “catories” should obviously be “categories”)

Hello,

I’m not sure how to request additional API-functionality, but I suppose a forum post is a good place to start.

This request is for an API-function to retrieve basic category information from a given site. Sure, we could crawl the site’s “View All Categories” page to build a tree, but obviously this is quite fragile and subject to stylechanges. The API should ease this up by simply returning a JSON-object that describes the item category tree for a given site. For each item (sub-)category it supplies the friendly display name (English) and the system name (as shows in category path, or URL).

Suggested API prototype: categories(sitename)
Examples:
http://marketplace.envato.com/api/edge/categories:audiojungle.json
http://marketplace.envato.com/api/edge/categories:videohive.json
