The 6’46” represents the average pace on 1km/mile. The more you run, the slower your pace gets. I average around 4min40-50 sec for 1km, but if I get to 5 km… it’s more like 5min50 :D

@OriginalEXE take it easy mate. I know exactly what that feels like, as I used to be very sporty before taking up smoking for several years. This is why I chillaxed on my first run after the first km… I might have made it to 2-3-5… but not back home :D My next step is 2km, and hope by the end of the month to reach a 10km in a single run.

Running style. Do you do any sort of warm-up before you start your run?

Again, overdoing if you already have pain in that area, might lead to fun cramps during the night. Also, get yourself some bananas :)

Maybe because your shoes, I’ve tried out my new shoe yesterday and I felt so much pain in my calf, so I got home and changed back to my good old one after the first 2 mile, and the pain just disappeared.

I’m thinking about the prize, what could it be? Does anybody know something about? :D

Yes, I do warm up a few minutes before going out. As for running style, mind sharing some advices? :P I’m a beginner, I ran 5km like a week ago and today after 1.5km my foot was killing me. :(

As for the shoes, they’re running shoes, Nike Air+, like this http://66.147.244.224/~gadgett6/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/nike_air_pegasus_27.jpg

Might be over-training, I want to run on a 2-3 days basis, at least 2km or so(ideally somewhere near 5km, if I can, LOL).

If your feeling pain in your calf, I suppose your running on your forefeet. I don’t know why you didn’t feel any pain a week ago, perhaps you changed your running form to forefeet running in your last run! :D

The pain your feeling is normal, it’s because you lack endurance since you just started. Give it time.
