I have developed themes with ecwid to my clients. And I know that api of ecwid is only for paid users of ecwid. So, themes must be only for free users or paid users with using product api?

Best if you ask Ecwid support about this one. There are a few from Ecwid on this thread, maybe try – http://themeforest.net/user/Ecwid

Hi,

Ecwid APIs (and Ecwid Product API in particular) are not required for Ecwid themes. Please let me explain:

1. All Ecwid users, be they on paid or free plan, can change the look of their stores using CSS. Almost every Ecwid element has its own CSS class. So it is possible to change almost everything.

2. If you want to have a deeper integration, completely custom layout or custom widgets (e.g. product carousel), you can achieve this with the APIs. Product API is available for paid users. JavaScript API is available for free and paid ones. More info about APIs: http://kb.ecwid.com/w/page/25232810/API If you have any questions or need a paid account to create an integration with our APIs, drop me a line at ene@ecwid.com

So to sum it up: I think any theme should be available for all users, free and paid, however it is always a good idea to extend the integration using our APIs: most merchant who is serious about their business is on a paid plan already.
