I have been developing themes for RapidWeaver since 2004 and can say that it definitely IS NOT a CMS in the sense that Wordpress, Joomla, or Drupal is a CMS.
You can get a 3rd party plugin that will allow for some basic cms features, but the app itself is not a cms.
Also, in its current form, RapidWeaver built sites are closer to iWeb built than Wordpress built sites. I do not mean that as a slight on RapidWeaver … I’ve been doing RW themes full-time for many years now but I just wanted to make sure that everyone understands that it is not a cms as most people understand a cms.

Fair point, in the true sense of the term CMS it might best to describe RapidWeaver as a website creator or website publishing software but for the time being RapidWeaver will be listed under the CMS category.

Yeah, all content for RapidWeaver built sites must be done through the application and then published and can not be done via a browser.

It creates a static website with no databases or php connects or anything.

Themes are basically a folder with a .rwtheme extension that contain all of the contents of the theme. To install, you just double click on the theme and it will install onto your local machine.

Guys like me who have been doing RW themes for a lot of years will be interested to see how this takes off for you guys and what the response will be like.
