Sounds good. Question – the price is set by Envato based on the quality/feature set of that upload? But what if there a major enhancements in subsequent updates? Does Envato increase the price to reflect the enhancements? Or is the price locked in?

Yes the price can change to reflect updates / enhancements.

Fab contest, I am looking forward to seeing all your amazing design entries.

However it will be great if church theme design contest is also open to joomla. There are so many wordpress church theme on themeforest and online some not listed here yet, i don’t doubt that there is still room for more but on this site, I can count only 3 joomla church themes and after trying all 3, I can only vouch for one theme.

(PS. If you have a joomla church theme or keen on converting to joomla, please send me link to your theme. Thanks :-)

I’d like to suggest using the Church Theme Content plugin if you’re going to build a church theme. It has post types, taxonomies and custom fields ready to use for sermons, events, people (staff) and locations. The point is to make it easy for churches to switch between themes. And, of course, it saves you countless hours of work. ;)

ShaneFreer: would a theme that uses the free plugin Church Theme Content be eligible. We are concerned about content residing in Theme specific custom post types.

I guess content plugins like “Church Theme Content” would be similar in nature to themes that use Woocommerce, etc – I just want to be sure that church themes based on content plugins will be eligible?

thx.

B

I’m glad you’re concerned about post types being tied to a theme. Envato has said they will eventually require custom post types and other functionality to be in plugins like Church Theme Content so they’re probably happy to see earlier adopters: http://notes.envato.com/news/update-wordpress-theme-submission-requirements/ (not sure what the current status of this is)

Sorry no :)

Because of the commercial nature of the Envato networks, authors are expected to understand and respect the fact that using the forum to post links to one’s own items, or to give away free files to the community, is not allowed. This practice effectively undercuts the hard work of all authors who wish to sell their items fairly. Thanks!
