Seems as though you very much like Irish and more traditional western European music, it all sounds nice and clean, I could see it being used for various out door and indoor scenarios, the “Epic” one is probably more of an outdoor scenario.

Grrrrr, this track is going to cost me money. I found it brilliant, and it made me want to go to the pub now to have a good pint, or two, three…

Ah, well, as someone who plays the Irish Whistle for a living (no joke), it’s certainly not Irish…more of a hornpipe than a jig, somewhat pirate-ish.

This is in no way a criticism of the track though, very nice job! Just not, you know, very Irish hehe…

Nice work but in my opinion, violin sound must be better than this.

Try Adagio Violins by 8Dio, they sound pretty awesome.

I use LA Scoring Strings, but the Adagio strings are great as well. LASS strings can be difficult to work with, but they are infinitely customizable. Best sound “out of the box” is Hollywood Strings IMO, but you have to have a beastly system to run them. I’m talking minimum of 32GB ram, multiple SSD drives with TB or eSATA, quad core, etc.

My general rule is to only use solo instruments that sound real. Fake sounding strings and other instruments can do just fine as pads or texture elements, but keep them away from melody lines or moving parts. Even in cheap libraries you can fund realish sounding instruments that work on melodies, e.g. the harp in EWSO and the hammered dulcimer in Logic.

In my opinion, LASS are great for spiccatos and more of a background sound, when I’m trying solo parts, that kinda lead the track, Adagio Violins work better for me.
