Can I be an exclusive author for GraphicRiver (selling my premium business card templates at GR only) yet sell my website themes on a site not owned by ThemeForest/Envato (my site themes will not be added to either) ?

Best to read the terms but from what I understand to be exclusive it is item based – ie item to be exclusive has to be sold here only – different products not for sale here but somewhere else does not validate the agreement.

But I’m not authorized to say that – best to read brother ;)

I think Jonathan’s right on this one, exclusivity is based per item, not you in general! But, as far as I can tell, you could for example release a fully coded design exclusive to TF, but sell or give the PSD away as it’s counted as a seperate item!

I dont think so, it’s all or nothing, because there’s just one setting(sadly)

Yeah, it’s per item, not you as an author.

You cant choose this per item, there’s just one setting as an author. So there’s no possibility to change this per item.

When you choose whether you are an exclusive author or not, that just refers to the stuff you release here, not to any of your other works that you release elsewhere.

You are either an exclusive “author” or a non-exclusive author. You cannot choose to be exclusive in one marketplace only nor can you choose only some items from your envato portfolio to be exclusively sold.

What you can do, is create another account. One is a exclusive and another one not. There are many authors around here with more than one account.

And about selling themes elsewhere: You can sell themes elsewhere as long as they are not in a exclusive account in Theme Forest

You could create a separate author account to sell on the two different market places.

Thanks for your replies, I just need to know if I can keep selling the graphics I’ve already upped as an exclusive author but sell the website templates elsewhere – I have never upped any of my website templates to Envato nor do I intend to.

I’m going to contact support, will post the answer here in case others need to know.
