Quick Suggestion. I’d really appreciate it if all links leading to external sites, such as links posted in forums open in a new tab or window. Could easily be obtained using target=”_blank” and definitely keeps your users longer on the site theoretically speaking. =)

Best Regards.

We could do this; however, it’s a pet peeve to many. :)

Is not xHTML Strict valid, you can use jQuery instead.

$('a').each(function() {
   var a = new RegExp('/' + window.location.host + '/');
   if(!a.test(this.href)) {
       $(this).click(function(event) {
           event.preventDefault();
           event.stopPropagation();
           window.open(this.href, '_blank');
       });
   }
});

Really don’t see the point in this, I’d presume most people who visit this site will already open items in new tabs. Its only 1 click/2 clicks to make it happen, not worth the extra JS load time to accomplish this.

Mouse Central Button , hmm every day’s a school day!

Anyway I don’t think target=”_blank” is DDA compliant?
