I saw some people doing it, with the question; is it fair to other designers? So, is it allowed to put extra tags in your description?

Congratulate me for my bad english.

you can use maximum 15 tags. Did you see more than 15 tags on an item?

In the description you can write what you want, off course it needs to be about the item in question. If you don’t have dogs in your item then is not fair to write dogs there. This will be the only problem that I see. If you don’t have dogs and you write dogs so you may pop up in the search results just to get more exposure then you are a bad person :)

It depends on the marketplace. For example, on PhotoDune and AudioJungle you can have up to 30 tags if I remember correctly…

;) Other marketplaces are happy with 50 tags … But VideoHive seems forever limited with 15 only… So put all your ‘dogs’ and ‘hot-dogs’ in the description, as Doru said… For the old files were allowed unlimited simple keywords… But now it should be written in some ‘narrative’ sentences…

Narrative sentences are also better for google search engine. It likes that very much, the meaningful paragraphs.

You can do it if you using normal sentecens for example If you have a corporate opener you can say: ‘This dynamic project has smooth and dynamic animations which you can edit very easily’. Now you have some tags in it but you’ve used it in a sentence which still makes sense.

What you can’t do is add a description of the project and go like this: smooth, animation, text, dynamic, project, etc.

Because than google is going to whoop your ass I’ve heard.

Source?

More likely, Envato will. Keyword-stuffing may influence the VH search function so – in the community spirit of the marketplaces – it’s frowned upon (=not allowed).

Don’t really have a source, friend of mine who builds websites mentioned it a few weeks a go. But you would end up on some sort of black list if you would have web pages full of tags.

This is what i saw in a item description on videohive.

Extra tages: video, smooth, text, 3d, project, placeholders, etc.

He had about 50 extra tags in his description.
