Facebook and swfAddress

Hey guys,

Does anyone know if facebook supports deeplinking with swfaddress? Or at least if they have some rules about it?

Doesnt work unfortunately.. But what I do is this: lets say you want www.yourdomain.com/#/page on it, do a www.yourdomain.com/page and then have a PHP redirect. Just make sure you put the content in HTML in there with PHP , so facebook knows the right title and content.

However the problem will be reverse if Flash stuffs are not appealing than html / javascript.

Btw, please share the solutions if someone knows easier deeplink techniques.

Hey Fifty. I was thinking about this when i prepared my latest file. Some way to modify the swfaddress classes to host in your server and modify the way it controls the url on browser.

Thinking it twice i just ended up thinking “Who is going to use browser back-forward arrow buttons while using a FB app.”?

Almost sure it’s not worth the effort. Just create a good and clear navigation for your file. Will be easier and more useful for users, IMO .

Also, please wait around three or four motnhs to upload new FB stuff, if possible.

I don’t like these Facebook flashies coming out, due the small area and limitations. Though it seems to be a market apparently. Is there some guide or tutorial to integrate those things in FB? I might have some idea to spice it up despite the crappy specs.

Pretty much how my facebook buttons work – it’s not an elegant solution but its one that works.

Probably this is where our decisions will end regarding deep linking. Because, the Fan page tab itself is a deeper page as per users, so we can’t expect them clicking too much after reaching a tab. So deeplinking is actually not more of a requirement. Secondly even if it is possible, our buyers will face problems implementing due to complexity.

Another alternative in case it helps: Make your Flash template usable as single modules. Those who wants direct links to each of their page will insert the same template on multiple tabs. (by calling different xml files)
