since facebook launched timeline for business pages yesterday there’s also a new policy;
”... Covers may not display calls to action or references to Facebook features such as “Like this Page”, purchase or pricing info such as “40% off” or “Download at our website”, or contact information such as web address… ” – TechCrunch
I guess this information might be important to all designers of (business-) facebook covers.

Thanks for that!
I’m sure it’ll be important information for many authors!
Edit: Not being allowed to display your web address is a little ridiculous though…

Especially considering it’s a page for businesses ha!
I wonder if it also applies to personal profiles…
I wondered few days ago about this feature (timeline for pages). I was very enthusiastic when I started to read your new thred. All expected features are not allowed. Then what kind of graphics we are allowed to post on page cover?

Does that mean that for those of us who have already designed Timeline covers with web address, email, twitter etc that we should now go back and change them?
I would just leave them, the buyers can take it out if they have to. I personally agree its ridiculous to limit the thing to just pictures, business’ need to promote there site otherwise the cover is almost pointless. whatever…
I think facebook’s policy with not pointing to another web address is that they want that facebook page to be where traffic goes and stays.
This makes sense because facebook makes its money off of advertising revenue and doesn’t want traffic leaving the site.
It is a bit draconian to have it in their Terms. I can’t imagine them actively policing it though.
