Facebook has again changed up the way to implement a custom Page Tab into Facebook. For the most part it is much easier, all a user has to do is add the url and secure url, but note that the urls must have a secure connection by October 1st, as well the same with apps.
http://developers.facebook.com/blog/post/542/I created a short video on how to implement it. Skip to 2:31 to avoid my commercial.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4TFA65TPgsHope this helps in your reworkings of your tutorials. I could probably create a non-commercial one for a tutorial if there was interest.
Cordially, Tom

What’s secure connection ? Do all hosts got it ?
I have multiple flash FB pages hosted on one domain. Will one SSL work for those?

October 2nd is my birthday. I bet Mark Suckerberg has selected this date specially for me.
Just read about this today. Thanks for putting up the youtube video to explain it Tom. But have questions – Is Having secured URL mandatory? which will mean people who buy a template will have to make their own SSL website ?
Ok, I got my answer, it is mandatory. If I do not provide a secured URL and then a person who is browsing Facebook on secured connection comes to my page, then following is what facebook displays to the user:
“We can’t display this content while you’re viewing Facebook over a secure connection (https). Would you like to temporarily switch to a regular connection (http) to use this app? You will have a secure connection upon your next login.”

Ok. I updated mines to https. I’ve the server with a friend company so i’m paying really low. But i want to ask you guys how many may you pay on your servers to update to https. I’ll try to get an average rate, as i’m sure i’m going to receive many questions about this in the near future.
Really wrong move from Mark Suckeberg, imo.
Much more if they just block non https apps from october 2nd, instead of displaying the alert message commented by dexterous, which has been present since august or more.

So guys,
Just looked at the cost on a JustHost server. 70E for SSL and you need Dedicated IP too :(( 20 E . Does this mean the end of facebook iframe templates ?
I’m sure users will be pissed off.
