Hello people,

One silly question. I see people using http://fancyapps.com/fancybox/#license (fancybox) at their templates while it is distributed under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 3.0.

Can I use it? Why it is allowed since it says at the license: Noncommercial — You may not use this work for commercial purposes.

Or if i get the developers license I can use it (although I doubt it).

Thanks!

FancyBox 1.x is licensed under MIT / GPL, you can use it for free in your TF item…

FancyBox 2.x uses different license… :(

This is also the reason why WooCommerce change the lightbox script from FancyBox 1.x to PrettyPhoto…

Try this,

http://dimsemenov.com/plugins/magnific-popup/

Flexible, free and if you’ve got the skills you can make it look exactly the same as fancybox.

That looks really promising, I like the fact that it has no default styling :)

Cheers, Dimitris

You can use fancybox 2 in your theme, you need to purchase a $89 license for each theme. Reference: http://themeforest.net/forums/thread/fancybox/72615?page=2
