Looks like we have some Bethesda fans here. I agree that the atmosphere in Skyrim is pretty good.
Time to drop some old school names.

Anyone ever play the Quest for Glory series? They started on dos, but I remember dragon fire having a gorgeous score – sad to see such a rich series die out!
I remember hearing the theme in 8bit in their first few games… by the time dragonfire came out in 98 we had discovered CD’s and the original theme was translated into a full orchestra – kind of cool to hear it grow over time.
I love Half-Life 2 and Fallout 3 for their gameplay but my favorite score is Jeremy Soule’s Skyrim nowadays .

)) What can I say… these guys know their job!
Back to the good old days, I clearly remember one theme, that amazed me…and it still plays in my head occasionally! ) It was from the ZX-spectrum game named Full Throttle.
...but wait for it, I just found it on youtube!!
Yup, it doesn’t sound so awesome nowadays But it was my favorite in those days when Wolf 3D for PC with its ray-tracing method was some kind of miracle.
Bioshock is insanity (art direction for the entire game is off the charts)... and I’m loving the Half Life love..
My favorite games: -Project: M (A fan made Super Smash Bros. Melee 2.0) -Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie -The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask -Portal 2 -World of Goo
As far as music goes, I would say anything written by Koji Kondo is gold. (Mario, Zelda, Starfox.) Also, Kingdom Hearts has a fantastic soundtrack.
