As a side note: if Jeffrey, Cyan, or Collis are listening – social media features would be awesome. Being able to retweet a product, or FB connect it, share it, etc. from the product page itself would be a boon to the marketplace. I can’t imagine 100% adoption, but even a 2% use of retweets would boost traffic quite a bit I would imagine.
i agree with this as well, some social media buttons would be great. a button to e-mail someone a link to an item would also be cool. in short, whatever youtube has to share a video – envato needs it to spread knowledge of their products. once something like that is implemented, it’s basically free/effortless advertising for their network.

and regarding RSS again – as this site grows you will get less and less developers and more novices buying files because that’s the audience stock is usually made for. you need to cater the site to them. those usually aren’t the techiest people. sure RSS is great for people who know how to use it, but anything involving a process, as small as it might be is too much trouble for the average buyer. a simple button added onto an author’s profile would be great even if all it does is e-mail you updates from that author and not anything implemented into the actual website itself (like an inbox close to deviantart’s system). i don’t see the harm in adding something like that.
