Nice idea. Its always an enigma how our tracks are used
Great idea ! +1 +1 +1
I like the idea. Sounds good. I think, most of the buyers wouldn’t mind answering those questions.
- Attended a Community Meetup
- Author had a File in an Envato Bundle
- Beta Tester
- Bought between 1 and 9 items
- Exclusive Author
- Has been a member for 3-4 years
- Interviewed on the Envato Notes blog
- Microlancer Beta Tester
- Referred between 10 and 49 users
I like the idea, Matt. But I feel like Miksmusic has a point. We pretty much know that if we upload interface sounds that people will be using them for a small range of project types. If we upload an audio logo, likewise. If we upload a song, it could be used in a handful of applications although broader than the previous examples. And we know if someone purchased a personal or extended license at the moment of purchase.
That said, I still like the idea and would love to see something like this fleshed out and implemented to provide us with some more analytics. What we are currently privy to is not enough to intelligently adjust marketing strategies or other engagement efforts. I feel this is the biggest thing holding authors back from making a much larger impact on traffic numbers and generating both new and repeat customer sales. Perhaps if customers volunteered the info that is currently protected (how they found out about us, are the new to the Envato network, etc) it would be more likely to be shared with us. It wouldn’t take much more than this to change the entire approach to this puzzle for all of us.
*And before people chime in about it, no there should not be info given about the identity of the customers who purchase our files unless they choose to contact us directly.
The idea is good, but unfortunately, it will not have any value for us, and informative. I think that would not be bad if, after each sale to the author received an e-mail with the report: what country bought, for what purposes, and of course the mandatory rating and comments to the rating. I do not think this will stop customers from buying
ADG3studios saidI don’t think that lot of buyers will answer. It’s something like rating system although to vote for the track is even more simply
I think it’s a really great idea, but if it were ever to be implemented, I think it would be an optional thing. But I think many buyers would be happy to do it if they know it helps authors.
This function should be mandatory
and I would have create a reminder about voting for the quality of the tracks.
this reminder should periodically pop up on top of the site with links to the user’s shopping
Thanks my friends for all your opinions! Of course it would be a issue, that not everybody wants to fill this when it’s optional, but better a few than nothing i guess. And yes, i’m sure some people would like to share what they use it for. But a very important suggestion is in my opinion the reminder for rating like FHR suggests!! I already thought about that too. I will open even a new thread for this. Maybe it helps the developers
