Feature Request.

Unsure if this has ever been mentioned but maybe add the ability to mass email everyone that has purchased a certin product? that way you could send out an email when you update a theme or product.

what do you think?

I like the idea of making the client feel that you are still working to improve the product and offer free updates.

its a good idea but it would be abused by some authors here

If implemented it should be a subscribe option the user can toggle on and off for the files they have purchased and it should be moderated…

I do not agree. This must be an option ONLY when an update is released. You are not able to see the customer’s emails nor use them whenever you want. Only when an update is available… will be nice if the author is able (or not) to send an update notification.

.- 10000 bad idea .. it would turn into a spamming tool. If people want to get updates, they can subscribe to your rss feed.

what about an automatic email that gets sent to a buyer when the product has had an update uploaded and approved?

same thing but takes it out of the hands of the author so it cant be abused.

There were some buyers who came to forums and complaint that why some authors send them emails whenever they (authors) upload a new file to flashden, so not a good idea to send buyers email without their permission.

the authors who choose to abuse this “feature” would only be hurting themselves more than helping. That is when Karma will kick in.

They would not be hurting themselves at all, exposure and advertising is everything in business, and especially on FD. Losing a couple buyers that are mad about the spam would not even come close to offsetting the amount of exposure mass emailing all the old buyers would bring.
