how to get there? is there any rules, achievements, sales we must reach or? are authors picked randomly or someone is doing that?

I think it’s based on how well a theme does, specifically number of sales.

That way or another, I’d like to be featured

Funny – I sent this very question to support a week or so ago as I thought it was odd that people who had just joined received the featured spot with 1 item for sale when there are plenty of active users who are seasoned that have not been featured.

I was told that you can’t request, be voted for etc it’s purely random…...

in that case, we just can hope that we will get selected.

I don’t think is purely random. I guess the most considered factor while choosing the featured item of the week is its so called “uniqueness”
