Foremost its very simple. Which is not always a bad thing, but I can barley read the text and I am trying to see something unique or something that stands out. Its a bit to simple.
i would say, darken the font, look at padding, (What do you think about rap-a-rounds for the date), add images, and give me something that stands out.
