Here is one for the reviewers. Say I would make a file that is categorized as files AD does not need anymore. But I bring new features to it. Make it better than others. Will that get rejected even if it has new features?
Staff? Authors who tried this? Can you help me out here?
if the file looks good they will accept it.
what “looks good” is for each reviewer, its another story.
so rule is, “looks good” and “is not the same as the rest of the crowd already on sale”
one way to find out, upload and see what answer you get.
if: “we don’t need more files of this type at this moment” means you’re file is not better than what there’s already on the market.
if: “you’re item has been approved for sale” means what we all know what.
Are you definitely certain your file’s gonna be super-awesome?
Will the features definitely make it stand out from the crowd?
If your answer is YES to at least one of the above two questions, go ahead and start developing
I think it can be accepted but most of your work adding those nice new features will be ignored… I mean, it will catalogued and priced equally with one of those similar files already on sale.
I tell you my experience with my first (and still unique) file, I went beyond the Image viewers utilities creating a solution similar to FSIViewer (you can google it), cheaper but almost as good as that one, and designed an algorithm to process images from php, create tiles, arrange and display them in different zoom levels from flash, so you can load huge images on the web (I mean beyond 5000×5000 px ) and display them in a couple of seconds, and some other cool features like the Hotspot editor, and file security and authentication, and so on…(you can check it out here) However my file was added with the same price as another similar viewers that only increase proportionally the dimensions of the displayed media (and I’m not saying that’s bad, it’s the basic idea for zooming, I’m just telling I went a different way).
I felt really really bad about it because took me 3 months to achieve this project, contacted support and they just added me $3… But, whatever, Im past through it and Im not staying forever with that single file and Now I’m working hard to create new cooler things and my next one is coming soon The same Il be promoting flviewer as I think it has much to offer to many people around here and there
So, Im just saying there’s a risk that your file can be treated the same thing as the other ones and you can lose hard work, except your file is widely different and surely will pass as new and innovating one! Anyway upload it, either way will be useful for many people and you will increase your earnings, you won’t lose a thing
if the file looks good they will accept it.It’s not just a case of “looks good” for a file in the list of files we no longer need to be accepted you must “take a unique approach or somehow make it better than the ones we already have.”
what “looks good” is for each reviewer, its another story. If file under review is marginal it will typically be presented to other reviewers for a second opinion; even though the final decision is delivered by a single reviewer two or more opinions will have gone into arriving at that decision.
one way to find out, upload and see what answer you get.A better way is to upload files on the “files we do need” list
We got rejected but others got approved; and others still get approved with files AD doesn’t need. It’s a lottery if you ask me.
Yeah, but don’t you guys do the same stuff that usually gets rejected? I mean, that girl was right you know. Saying, “Did you fall from heaven? Because my feet hurt.” Isn’t really the best way to say that pick up line. You must have gotten rejected for a reason.

we didn’t fall from heaven, but neither did others
