Having used HTML Themes and designing in HTML/CSS for years I finally got around to using some Wordpress Themes and I must say I am lost.

I bought this excellent one last night to use over the weekend on a very urgent Products Website. http://themeforest.net/item/shoppica-responsive-ecommerce-wordpress-theme/3644899

I thought Wordpress would be like a HTML Theme where you could open one of the example pages and edit the contents and swap out the photos for your own and delete or add your own widgets.

That doesn’t seem to be the case??

Hello :) I made the switch a few years back to WordPress and I agree it can be a bit confusing when you’re used to doing everything through HTML. But once you get a feel for it it’s wonderful and can save a ton of time.

Here’s some good introduction lessons from our sister site Wptuts+ that may help – http://wp.tutsplus.com/category/tutorials/wp101-training/

Thanks a lot guys for the response.

Having held out on using Wordpress for a long number of years I have to say I feel vidicated now haven tried it for the past few days.

It doesn’t work the way I thought it would. I am used to opening theme pages…adjusting their content and adding my own.

I win’t be using the 2 Wordpress themes I bought.
