That seems an easy way to decrease the number of issues concerning the progress bar. What we really need is a reliable tool which give us an idea of the state of our upload. It is so difficult to indicate how many items are there before our?

I’m totally dislike this.

Wait a sec, scott… Is this going to be a permanent solution or will we get something that will tell us the progress of the review?

Get ready for the threads like what is the current review time, Felt tips can open official thread for review time like the one he opened for sales monitor in video hive, But now we are left in the dark with the new system, we don’t know when will it approved, no fingers crossed at last moments of the queue, any way change is the constant, sure we will get used to new system, Thanks for the update scott, Appreciated. :)

It has become more complex to show the actual position of an item in the queue due to many reasons. Some are mentioned in the announcement here (e.g. items being temporarily removed from the queue and then later put back or processed) and other details were covered in Jarel’s previous post. Basically, if we continued to show you the position of each item in the queue, it would continue to create confusion as the value is likely to keep changing. Hence the new approach which, as you stated, is based on state of upload or “status” as we’re referring to it.

Hi Anps. As per above. Position in the queue or how far an item is progressing in the queue has been removed. It’s all about item “state” and “status” now to give authors a better idea of communicating whether an item is on schedule to be reviewed, or if we’re taking some extra time to help resolve any issues with a submission. Give it a chance and try it out when it launches and feel free to give us some feedback once it launches.

Instead of saying we’re “fixing” the progress bar wouldn’t it be more accurate to say we’re “removing” the progress bar ;)

Well at least I won’t be refreshing the author dashboard constantly anymore to see if the bar moved just a little bit!

I really don’t get all the “when will it be reviewed”, “how long will it take”, “ITS BEEN 4 DAYS!!”.

Who cares?

Submit your item and move onto creating your next, it’ll be reviewed when its reviewed and you’ll get an email.

Sitting staring at a loading bar is a waste of time.

Hey, thanks for the efforts, It might sound crazy, but i prefer the progress bar because it seemed to give me a rough idea on when my file will be reviewed, but this, its a TEXT message that gives no indication at ALL of when the item will be reviewed, so for me i dont see that this is an improvement at all. for me this is a change to the worse or for the sack of change :(

Yay! I never really understood how the progress bar worked anyway. I could submit two updates at the same time and they would start at very different percentages. I like the sound of what’s coming, but it does also seem like a little less. Maybe it’s just an illusion or my misinterpretation of the original bar. Are there any other stages that can be reported like perhaps when your item has been checked out of the queue and assigned to someone for review? Or maybe how far along you are in the queue? I guess I always assumed the progress bar indicated how I moved throughout the queue.
