can please the “anyone can flag author’s comments feature” be disabled ?

coz i’ve just answered a support request on item comments and someone flagged it so buyer can’t see it

dunno if mistake or intentional, however i don’t see any valid reason why anyone can hide my comments on my items.

oh.. well I’ve asked support the same thing and I don’t remember any good reason why this is possible :/

There can be many reasons for why the comment got flagged, it might be offensive to the author or maybe even the item itself.

Since we have rules on how to behave on the marketplaces, we can´t really afford anyone to be offensive to one another. It might ruin the entire idea behind this.

For example:

We can´t contact support to remove the “offensive” comment since it might take up to 24h to get it removed to that point. And one “offensive” comment might ruin sales, reputation and it might even cost you followers. This is why we have the function where you can flag a comment you find “offensive” or inappropriate.

You see my point? :)

Let me give it a try bitfade, ;)

bitfade posted an answer to a support request on bitfade’s OWN ITEM ...

Someone clicked “Report Comment”... now the support request is hidden and the support request is no longer helpful to the person who needed the support request...

bitfade wants to know why people can hide bitfade’s OWN COMMENTS on bitfade’s OWN ITEMS ... certainly he’s not going to try and hurt his own sales…

Pretty reasonable question… IMO :)

You forgot one other posibility, some one could have pressed the wrong button(wanted to reply but flagged it) I have made this mistake a couple of times :P

Yeah, I see both your points. But my main point were to why we needed it, not to why his comments are flagged :P

I had just one point ;)

No i agree it’s better to have this option, because negative comments can take down your sales.

It would be nice if an author can review a flagged comment, and change this(if theres no need to flag a comment) This will save a lot of time for Envato staff.

Yeah, you had just one point ;) But @luckykind had one as well ;) This is why I said both your points ;) I only quoted your comment though :P

Yeah, you have a great idea there. If an author could review the flagged comments it would save support some time.
