Hello guys :)
For a long time I have heard only good things about FlashDevelop. Today I decided to give it a try and now I want to use it all the time because it’s a wonderful IDE :)
So a question pops-up into my head:
Can we post files created only with FlashDevelop and Flex SDK or do we have to include FLA , so the user can compile the code in the Flash IDE ?
I know this question is for the support but I feel like a few more people use FlashDevelop here, so they might be interested in the answer.

p.s. I know that I can work in FlashDevelop and have a FLA where I can set my document class and all that stuff but I’m talking about a whole project based on FlashDevelop.

good question… :)

I nearly always use an FLA for symbols etc…

It may be a pain, particularly for mac users if you purchased a project built entirely in FD and didnt have it installed…

Here’s another issue I can think of: the [Embed()] metadata tag… when you want to embed a font
Maybe (just maybe) there should be another section for FlashDevelop. Like “File Types Included”: Icon for FlashDevelop project file or something like that.

I think from a buyers viewpoint they will want an FLA and support would be far easier if they can just open flash and compile through a document class…

A FD icon in file types included would be cool though :)

I use it too… I’m working with “Flash Ide Projects” .. this way i code in it.. and the graphic clips are managed with Flash CS3 ide…
At the end the client won’t need the project file… just the .as and fla files…

@MSFX:
Yeah, you’re right. I should stick with the FLA . Thanks for helping me realize that :)
But it’s such a shame cause FlashDevelop & Flex SDK is all you need to build a flash app and both are free and opensorce and FD is such a great IDE …

hey is their a way in FD that I can still do ctrl+enter to compile my movie and it switches over to flash or do I have to manually switch back every time and then do ctrl+enter

there is, I think you have to be using an “FLA project” to do that though…
