Kind of a dumb question but I can’t seem to find any information on this…
Is it ok to embed arial in flashden projects for antialiasing since its a standart font?
I don’t see why not.
There are 20-25 font by default system that you can distribute for public sell and Arial family by default is one of them, the embed function for this type of font is allow for distribute as far as I know, you probably need it to use in a dynamic text animation using AS.
I don’t think you will have a problem with that.
Certain Flash functions on text fields require that the font is embedded otherwise they wont work. (as Tsafi hinted) but when selling files with embedded font you should be aware that Flash only embeds the font in the compiled SWF : it does not store it in the FLA .. so if you embed a font which the buyer does not have on their system and they need to edit the FLA Flash will warn them that a font they do not have is supposed to be embedded and offer them the option to hand-pick substitute fonts (from fonts they have installed) or use default fonts. In either case they will not end up with the same font when they compile the SWF – which can really mess up the appearance.
In these cases you should either include the font in the package (if it is a public domain font with unrestricted commercial use allowed ) or supply a link to where they can buy the font (and include a note in the description to inform potential buyers that the font required is available at a price, but not included in the package)
Here are a few links where you can find some public domain fonts:
1001 free fonts
daFont
(Make sure to check the license of the files at dafont.com, as not all fonts there are public domain)

Or you can embed the font in library and use its linkage name
